Fourth and fifth-grades study civil rights during Black History Month

As part of their civil rights studies this month, students attended a Piedmont College play about Muhammad Ali.
The fourth and fifth-grade classes made a trip to Piedmont College on Friday, February 15 to see And in This Corner: Cassius Clay, a production that highlighted Muhammad Ali’s early life in Jim Crowe-era Louisville and the impact that his community played in his life.

Both grades have been learning about the civil rights movement during the month of February. In the week leading up to the performance, they learned about the life of Muhammad Ali. The play helped to bring to life some of what the students have been learning about in their studies.
