Georgia author visits Lower School

Children's book writer Kristy Hamby inspires with her new book Chicken Lips.
North Georgia author Kristy Hamby made a special visit to the Lower School on Friday, September 21 to share her first children’s book Chicken Lips.

Chicken Lips follows the story of a silly cow on his quest to discover the meaning behind his name, and meets some fun farm friends along the way.  Students in pre-k through fifth grade gathered in the Rearden Theater on Friday morning to hear from Ms. Hamby. She read her book to the youngest students, and talked to third through fifth-graders about the journey to becoming a published author.

Ms. Hamby was inspired to write Chicken Lips after seeing her daughters’ love for their real-life cow named Chicken Lips. She lives in Cumming with her husband and three children. Learn more about Kristy Hamby and Chicken Lips on her Facebook page here.
