Faculty role changes announced for 2018-2019

Mrs. Holly White has accepted the position of Assistant Head of the Middle School and will start serving on the Middle School administrative team next school year. Additionally, Ms. Sarah Flagstad has been named Assistant Director of Athletics, and Ms. Nina Brocavich has been named chair of the math department for next academic year.
Mrs. Holly White has accepted the position of Assistant Head of the Middle School and will start serving on the Middle School administrative team next school year. 
 
Mrs. White has served in the role of Director of Counseling and led the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC). Next year, Head of the Upper School Dr. Erika Farr will assume leadership of TLC in addition to her duties as Head of the Upper School. Mrs. Kimberly Green will remain in her counseling role at the Upper School. 
 
"Mrs. White is a phenomenal administrator and educator who is student centered," said Head of School Dr. Anthony Sgro. "In the new role, she will provide student learning and emotional support support, manage the advisory system and assist teachers in thinking about student support in the classroom." 
 
Other current faculty shifts include Ms. Sarah Flagstad, current science teacher and Coit dorm parent, who will have a reduced teaching load next year and serve as Assistant Director of Athletics. "Ms. Flagstad has great administrative gifts and a strong understanding of athletics," Sgro said. 
 
Ms. Nina Brocavich will be chair of the Upper School math department next year.
 
"Ms. Brocavich is a great teacher and wonderful leader who will do a terrific job," Sgro said.  
 
Ms. Brocavich graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a double major in theoretical mathematics and Italian language and literature. She continued at University of Pittsburgh, in the Graduate School of Education, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Teaching: Secondary Mathematics Education. She has previously taught at Episcopal High School.
