Rabun Gap students earn Classic Center performing arts scholarships

Daniel Domibrov '19 and Lisa Yang '19 were awarded after auditioning in Athens
The Classic Center Cultural Foundation has awarded its performing arts scholarships to four high school musicians representing Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School and Rabun County High School.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School juniors Daniel Domibrov of Nova Sad, Serbia, and Lisa Yang of Shanghai, China, along with junior Sydney Watts and senior Keri Moore, both of Rabun County High School, each earned a $2,000 college scholarship to pursue their careers in music.  Both schools sent groups of students to The Classic Center in Athens earlier this month for auditions.

Members of the CCCF Board, along with representatives from both schools, honored the recipients during a special luncheon on Wednesday, March 18 at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School.

This is the third year the scholarship has been offered to students in Rabun County. The Foundation awards its performing arts scholarships to four students in Rabun County, three students from Athens and the surrounding counties, and one from Greene County. In 2018, the scholarship was open to both juniors and seniors.

The Classic Center Cultural Foundation is provides resources to entertain and educate our community by providing and supporting diverse performing, visual, and culinary arts programs, while working to maintain The Classic Center, northeast Georgia's premier award winning convention center and performing arts theatre located in downtown Athens, GA.
