Lower School faculty attends Get Your Teach On conference in Washington D.C.

Four Lower School teachers attended the Get Your Teach On conference in Washington D.C. on March 26-27.
Four Lower School teachers attended the Get Your Teach On conference in Washington D.C. on March 26-27.

Emily Neidle (4th grade), M.C. Phillips (5th grade), Tricia Anderson (2nd grade), and Amanda Garner (3rd grade) attended the two day, highly enthusiastic conference. The conference was based around current research based strategies that are dynamic, engaging, and rigorous for the elementary classroom. The content areas covered were math, social studies, reading and writing.

Hope and Wade King from the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, Georgia were the main presenters and hosted the event. The other presenters were relevant, well known teachers who are currently modeling these practices in their classrooms. The conference was centered around music, chants, technology, hands on activities, and games that engage students in their learning.
