Eagles swim team finishes strong at State

Eagles swim team finishes strong with boys 200 free relay team of Sam Poole, Liam Spoon, Justin Gilleland, and Alex Keho placing 14th and Girls 400 Relay team of Cindy Shen, Gavron Campbell, Cassidy Hancock and Alyssa Paynter placed 16th.
The Eagles traveled to Greensboro Aquatic Center for the NCISAA State Meet. The boy's team was led by juniors Kacper Kuzimski, Alex Kehoe, and Liam Spoon. Kuzimski placed 22nd in the 200 IM and 20th in the 100 Fly, both season-best times. Kehoe had two personal best times, placing 23rd in the 50 Free and 18th in the 100 Back. Spoon placed 29th in the 100 Back. The team of Sam Poole, Spoon, Justin Gilleland, and Kehoe placed 14th in the 200 Free Relay, scoring 10 points for the boy's team.

On the girl's side, senior, Gavron Campbell swam her last individual race, going to a personal best in the 100 Breast and placed 45th in the NCISAA 3A state. Our girls finished their last event in the top 16 to score points for Rabun Gap. The team of Cindy Shen, Gavron Campbell, Cassidy Hancock, and Alyssa Paynter dropped ten seconds from their previous best time to place 16th in the 400 Free Relay.

Overall, the girls team placed 18th and the boys team placed 19th.
