Eagles hold off Wildcats 1-1

Rabun Gap pushed across a run in the seventh inning to capture an exciting win against Rabun County.
Rabun Gap pushed across a run in the seventh inning to capture an exciting win Wednesday night at Rabun County.  Both teams entered the seventh inning hitless in what was a great pitcher’s duel.  With two outs in the seventh, Jake Knowles lined a single into left field for the Eagles’ first hit on the night.  Divontae Murphy then came up with a huge pinch hit, lining another single into center field.  When the ball was misplayed in center, Knowles managed to score all the way from first base.  In the bottom of the seventh, Adam Justus gave up a leadoff double to break up his no hit bid.  After the Wildcats bunted the runner to 3rd base with one out, Justus recorded a strikeout and then got a ground ball to end the game.  The win allowed Rabun Gap to sweep the season series with Rabun County and moved their record to 8-9 on the season.
