Eagles defeat Wildcats 6-5

On Wednesday evening, Rabun Gap battled back from an early deficit to pull out a 6-5 victory over the visiting Rabun County Wildcats.  The Eagles pounded out 13 hits as they fought back to tie the game in the second and fourth innings before finally taking a 6-5 lead in the fifth inning.  Entering the 5th, the Eagles trailed 5-3.  After Rabun County got the first 2 outs of the inning, the Eagles managed to push across 3 runs.  Jake Knowles tripled to start things off and then scored on Johnathan McFall’s bunt single.  Divontae Murphy then doubled in McFall to tie the score.  Murphy then scored the go ahead run on an infield error.  Johnathan McFall came on in relief in the 4thinning to earn his first victory of the year.  Rabun Gap’s record now stands at 3-6 for the year.
