Head of School Search Update: 10/16/18

We are very encouraged by the positive response to our Head of School position description and are pleased to provide to you an update on the progress.  We have had over 200 inquiries about the Head of School position. The Search Committee met with Carney Sandoe & Associates and reviewed a select group of 14 high potential dossiers in detail and invited nine candidates to interview with the Search Committee in person for approximately one hour in Atlanta at the end of September.

Out of these interviews in Atlanta, the Search Committee requested that 6 candidates visit our school and meet with a broader representation of the School Community.  They are a varied group of candidates, some with Head of School experience, some rising stars in the independent school community, and some with very different career experiences.  All offer various skills, ideas and competencies and they will benefit from the opportunity to see our campus community first hand.

While we have a committed and representative Search Committee, the feedback provided to the Search Committee by various constituents meeting the candidates is critical input.   Once all of the initial campus visits and possibly a few others new to the process are completed, we will invite a smaller group of candidates, with their families, to visit campus again and expose them to an even broader cross section of our School Community.

We remain on track with our search and look forward to furthering this important process to best serve the needs and mission of our remarkable School.

Gratefully,
Lynda and Margaret
