Lead The Way

Prefects are the premier student leaders at Rabun Gap, setting the tone for Upper School life through their example and service. Selected through faculty recommendations and a competitive application process, they are trusted role models who help manage the dorms, build community, and support daily campus life. Prefects kick off their leadership journey with a retreat to develop essential skills and prepare to lead with empathy, responsibility, and purpose.

The Honor Council is a respected student and faculty leadership group, elected by peers to uphold and promote Rabun Gap’s Honor Code. With representatives from each Upper School grade, the council plays a vital role in fostering trust, accountability, and a culture of integrity across campus.

Led by students elected from each grade and advised by faculty, the Student Government assists the administration and faculty in governing the student body. Their task is to manage and initiate positive social activities and to promote school spirit, as well as to seek policy changes that will benefit the community. The Middle and Upper School both have student government positions available.

Gap Guides work with our Admission Team to help prospective families in their Rabun Gap journey. They lead campus tours and assist with events on campus. Upper School students are invited to apply each year. 

Sources of Strength peer leaders work alongside adults and counselors at Rabun Gap to help improve mental health on campus by leading fun and inspiring activities for our community. More than 50 Upper and Middle School students serve as peer leaders in the program, and have leadership development opportunities each year from Sources of Strength's national trainers.

Club leaders are the driving force behind student clubs and activities. They create opportunities for their peers to explore shared interests, lead meetings, organize events, and keep their clubs active and engaging.

Peer tutors work in our Academic Resource Center. Selected by their teachers, peer tutors work one-on-one with other students to help promote academic success.
