Postseason Success: Advanced to the second round of the State Playoffs (2022–2023), reflecting the program’s competitive growth.
College Pathways: Alumna Vivi Geren went on to play collegiate tennis at Columbia College (SC), starting as a freshman.
Season Structure: Varsity girls compete in the fall, with approximately 14–18 matches each season.
Year-Round Training: Daily offseason training whenever weather allows, with strength and conditioning sessions in the weight room when courts are unavailable.
Individual Development Opportunities: Strong relationships with regional tennis professionals allow for private instruction and supplemental training beyond team practices.
Global Team Culture: A diverse roster of international and domestic players creates a rich, competitive, and culturally dynamic environment.

OUR HOME COURTS

The Donald Arbitter Tennis Courts are home to Rabun Gap tennis, featuring four newly resurfaced courts designed for high-level play and player development. A raised viewing area with stairs and bleachers allows spectators to enjoy matches in comfort, while the courts overlook the stunning mountain scenery, creating an inspiring environment for competition and training.

Meet Our Coach

Coach Stephen Karplus Esteban Karplus is the Head Tennis Coach at Rabun Gap, bringing over 20 years of international coaching experience. His career includes leading championship teams in New York City Public Schools, serving as Borough Director for the Bronx with the City Parks Foundation, and six years as Head Coach at Hwa Chong Institution in Singapore. Since joining Rabun Gap in 2017, Coach Karplus has emphasized sportsmanship, discipline, and a love for the game, developing well-rounded student-athletes who excel academically, athletically, and personally.
