Cross Country

Rabun Gap cross country is a powerhouse program with standout runners on both the boys and girls teams. Consistently finishing in the top five, our athletes push the pace and set the standard. Bailey Brackett '27 was NCISAA state champion in 2025, and won the high school division of the Peachtree Road Race, the world’s largest 10K. Our runners have the opportunity to train on some of the most challenging and scenic courses in the country.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Competitive Race Schedule: Student-athletes compete in approximately 10 meets each season, with races featuring 40–200 runners, providing high-level competition and race-day experience.
Individualized Development: Training begins in August with personalized plans designed to meet each athlete where they are and support steady growth throughout the season.
Accessible Entry Point: No prior racing experience is required; coaches work one-on-one with each student-athlete to build confidence, fitness, and race strategy.
College Advancement: Cross Country alumni have gone on to compete at the Division I and Division II levels, including Georgia College & State University and Virginia Military Institute (VMI).

Meet Our Coach

Coach Kristen Meadors leads our boys and girls cross country teams. She brings decades of running experience to the program and is an accomplished athlete herself. She has regularly competed in marathons and ultramarathons, and is committed to sharing her passion for the sport with future generations. Coach Meadors works with student-athletes to build strength, endurance, and running skills to take them to the next level.
