The Teaching and Learning Center supports students by developing their personal and intellectual strengths. TLC professionals coach, guide, and advocate for students, empowering them toward greater independence. Our program is based upon the core belief that every student can learn and succeed.

The Teaching and Learning Center, located on the top floor of Hodgson Hall, includes individual and group study space, the Math Lab, computer lab, and dedicated classrooms for one-on-one support.

Faculty work with students in small groups in the Learning Center to help them achieve mastery in verbal subject areas, and math resource teachers are available to assist students in the Math Lab. Both are open every period, every day, and during evening study hall on Monday through Thursday. Peer tutors are also available through the Learning Center in an array of academic courses.

Bolstering the confidence, skills, and performance of Rabun Gap students, the services provided in The Learning Center are invaluable in helping students achieve their academic and personal best.

“I didn't use the Student Resource Center as a freshman  I thought I was in high school now and had to do everything on my own. I was out sick earlier this year and fell behind and the people in the resource center helped me get back on track. You come to high school never knowing where you'll end up. I am so thankful to Mrs. Midgett and realize that it's okay to get help!"
