Safer Together Plan

We are safer and stronger together.

Please continue to refer to this page for the latest updates on Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School's response to COVID-19 and reopening plans for the  2020-2021 school year.  The COVID-19 virus remains a global health crisis marked by daily changes. Information specific to parents will be communicated directly to students and parents via email and The Gap.

Campus COVID-19 Response

Our team has been dedicated for many months preparing the health and safety guidelines and protocols necessary to be fully open on campus. We have created the Safer Together Plan, which details some of the ways that we will care for our campus community together. Informed by recommendations from both North Carolina and Georgia State Departments of Education and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as various collaborations with other peer schools, this plan offers ways to minimize the threat of COVID-19 on campus while preserving the character of our Rabun Gap experience and community as much as possible.
We will continue to refine and develop the Safer Together Plan throughout the year as the situations in our area may require adjustments or as new recommendations and guidance are available. Additionally, this plan offers an enhanced flexible learning platform that will ensure continued academic progress should a student need to continue learning at home for a period of time.

  • Campus Visitors

Campus is open for admission visitors with an appointment. We offer in-person tours and virtual tours for those who can't make it to campus. To request an admission tour, call 706-747-7720 or email admission@rabungap.org.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and in consideration of the safety of our residential community, we have temporarily closed all areas of campus to the general public, with the exception of admission visitors. We look forward to the day when we can welcome the community back to the general use of the walking path and other areas of campus that so many of our neighbors enjoy.
