Mission & Values
OUR MISSION
Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School prepares young people for college, career, and a lifetime of leadership and service. In our beautiful mountain environment, we inspire students to grow in character, intellect, and spirit. We value educational accessibility and foster a community of learners whose diversity is honored and reflects the world.
Our Historic Pillars
Our historic pillars — Work, Study, Worship — have defined the Rabun Gap experience, shaping generations of students into thoughtful, capable, and compassionate leaders. These enduring values are more than tradition; they are the foundation of our daily life and educational approach.
These three pillars are further expressed through the core values that guide our community: Character, Intellect, and Spirit.
Together, these principles form the heart of the Rabun Gap experience, preparing students not only for college, but for lives of purpose, leadership, and service.
LEAD THE WAY
“Lead the Way” challenges the Rabun Gap community to achieve its highest standards in all things. “Lead the Way” is about pursuing one's personal best in achievement and character, and also, it is about being a member of a community that actively supports and encourages the same pursuit for others.
