Head of School Search

On November 3, 2025, Head of School Jeff Miles announced his plan to conclude his tenure at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School at the end of the 2025–2026 academic year.

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School community is deeply grateful for Mr. Miles’ exceptional leadership over the past seven years. During his tenure, the School achieved record enrollment, completed its 2020–2025 Strategic Plan, enhanced campus facilities, and strengthened its financial foundation—all while remaining true to its mission of preparing young people for life through accessibility, global education, and community.

The Board of Trustees has retained Carney Sandoe & Associates (CSA), an internationally recognized firm specializing in educational leadership searches, to assist in identifying Rabun Gap’s next Head of School. An internal Search Committee, co-chaired by Mr. Niles Bolton and Dr. Kate (Oliver) Maine ’85, is partnering closely with CSA to guide this important process. Our search consultants are Jamie Estes and Marsha Little. 

The Board looks forward to a national search that builds on the strong foundation established under Mr. Miles’ leadership.
