Academics at Rabun Gap
What makes Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School's academic program unique? As a college-preparatory school, we offer an educational program designed to both challenge and nurture each student. We encourage natural curiosity and, by example, we demonstrate that discovery and learning are life-long pursuits. Private, independent schools are well-known for their academic excellence with life-changing effects of attending school in a residential setting. Our private boarding and day school has small classes taught by a faculty committed to serving the needs of every student and eager to prepare the next generation for the challenges ahead.

A Few Facts to Know:
We are an independent, co-educational, college-preparatory boarding and day school for students in grades 6 through 12.
Our academic program offers a classical liberal arts curriculum and a wide array of cultural activities on and off campus.
Students benefit from extensive opportunities for experiential learning in laboratories, studios for music, art, and dance, directed and independent research.
Fifty-seven percent of the students are boarding.
International students comprise approximately 20% of the student body.
Advanced Placement (AP) courses are offered in all academic departments with 28% percent of students enrolled in an AP course and 75% of AP candidates receive a score of 3 or greater making them eligible to receive college credit for their work.
Our faculty community, comprised of 54 classroom teachers and 17 residential faculty, values small classes and working both in and outside the classroom with students.
Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School is a college preparatory day and boarding school serving grades 6-12. RGNS is fully accredited through SACS and NAIS.
