Head Coach: Grant Vatter
Grant joined the History Department from Charleston, SC, where he worked as a substitute teacher for Ashley Hall, an all girls private college preparatory school. He will teach U.S. History.
Grant holds a B.A. degree in History and an M.A. in Business Administration (International Business) from the University of Florida, and an M.A. in History from the University of Charleston. While working on his M.A. in History, he received an award for excellence in primary source research (American history) from the Colonial Dames of South Carolina.
When not in the classroom, Grant enjoys staying fit and maintaining a healthy balance between academics and athletics. He played on a competitive adult soccer team in Charleston and serves as assistant coach for varsity girls soccer in the spring.
Tonia joined the math department in 2013 and teaches Middle School math. A Georgia Tech graduate, she has a B.S. in applied mathematics. She worked as a production systems engineer and manager for roughly 8 years, leaving private industry in 2010 to pursue a lifelong interest in teaching. As the mother of two Rabun Gap students (Logan ‘17, Ian ‘20), Tonia developed an appreciation for the Rabun Gap math department. Tonia will coach Girls Basketball in the winter and work with the Middle School After School Program in the fall and spring.
